Recognized for service rendered to the underprivileged and the elderly at Ban Bang Khae Social Welfare Development Center, Bangkok. (4 November 2024)

A Day at Ban Bang Khae: What Service Taught Me

On 4 November 2024, I had the privilege of serving the underprivileged and elderly residents at the Ban Bang Khae Social Welfare Development Center in Bangkok, an experience I'm still carrying with me.

What stayed with me wasn't the recognition. It was the small moments: a shared smile, a handheld a little longer, a story told by someone who simply wanted to be heard. The elderly here have lived full lives, and spending time with them was a reminder that dignity and connection don't fade with age.

Service like this doesn't ask for much, just presence, patience, and a willingness to show up. And somehow, you always leave having received more than you gave.

To everyone who made this day possible: thank you for the reminder that the smallest acts of care often mean the most.
